Introduction
Professor Salma Shaheen is a Pashto and Urdu poet, fiction writer, researcher, and teacher. She has also served as director of the Pashto Academy at the University of Peshawar.
She has written numerous literary and scholarly books. Her work encompasses modern poetry, short fiction, women's experience, the Pashto tappa, folk song, and folklore research.
A leading woman scholar and creative writer in contemporary Pashto literature and folklore studies.
