Life and work
Introduction
Obaidullah Darwish Durrani is a prominent contemporary Pashto poet and a teacher of English literature. His family is originally associated with Gulistan in Kandahar and later settled in Quetta.
He has published numerous poetry collections. War in Afghanistan and the Pashtun regions, human loss, social pain, love, and the desire for peace recur throughout his ghazals and free verse.
One of the strongest poetic chroniclers of war and contemporary Pashtun tragedy.
